Dear Friends and Family,
First off I want to say how much I LOVE Sister Oldroyd, we are laughing so much together! We really hope and pray we stay together for 3 transfers. We’re seeing way too much success, so President isn’t allowed to move us! We definitely have the best area in the mission right now.
One of the miracles we saw this week was our Relief Society President asked us to go find this new move in.. we found the house but we didn’t find her.. instead we found a lady named Brittini! Brittini was pretty guarded at first but then she opened up as we started asking her questions. Come to find out her fiance passed away a few months ago and she’s going through a really rough time. She started crying and invited us in, so we comforted her and told her all about the Plan of Salvation! Brittini told us she has no doubt God sent us to her and that she needs a church to go to. ❤ MIIIRACLE.
Fabian, our waitor at Cotton Patch Cafe, came to church again! One of the nights this week we went out to eat with some members and we requested him. He told us how his phone broke so he doesn’t have an alarm clock, but if he did wake up, he’d come. So later that evening we went back to his work to give him a little alarm clock a previous missionary left! He got so happy and said “Wow, y’all are determined! You really want me there!” And we said “Yeah we do!!” Right before we left, this other waiter we’ve been feeling impressed to talk to, ran up to us! He asked us what was up and we quickly asked if he went to a church and Fabian from the background was like “yeah man, come to church with me.” So then we invited him to church and we’re all going to play basketball soon too. I love that we’re not awkward missionaries and that we know how to be normal hahah for the most part. I love that we get to be ourselves and be missionaries ❤ we’re seeing so much success from it! I love that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are preparing a way for all these sweet Okies to find the Gospel.
On Friday we had exchanges and USAO was having a community service day so we helped out at the museum for an hour. Sister Funk, Mandy and I got to scrape off paint from a window with razors.. which was a little scary because the last time I held a razor I ended up having to get stitches lol! Mandy, is a USAO worker, that we met for the first time and I swear she’s already Mormon. She asked us questions like “So I use your guys’ family search website, why do Mormons have such good records??” and “What happens to people that never get to hear about Jesus Christ?” We seriously taught her 3 lessons in 1!! We are so excited, she wants to learn more so she said we could come teach her on any of her lunch breaks. Miracle miracle miracle!
Funny.. Our investigator’s truck and our car definitely got egged. We called Grandpa, aka Brother Joiner, and he came to the rescue. He told us to meet him at a car wash so our paint doesn’t get ruined and we were like “But Grandpa it’s Sunday!” And he was like “in the Bible it says you have to get the Ox out of the Meir!” So he explained you don’t leave an Ox in a ditch just because it’s Sunday. Lol he insisted on paying for it and washed it as we sat in the car because he didn’t want our skirts to get wet. I sure love my Grandpa Joiner. ❤
Well life is still going by fast, half the time I don’t even know what day it is. OH! And Chris got confirmed a member and received the Holy Ghost on Sunday!! He told us he felt at peace, it was such a beautiful blessing. He really is going to be such a great leader and Priesthood holder, we sure love him!
I love y’all more than words can say, I’ll see y’all in a blink of an eye! I’m not coming home till August 3rd now.. so it’ll be a little bit longer! 😉 Everything happens for a reason, so I’m sure there’s more people I’m supposed to meet and more learning opportunities I’m supposed to have here in Oklahoma. I love y’all!!! Keep praying, Heavenly Father wants to help and bless you! ❤
